Lovers bathe in Malay Specials, pineapples, bananas, and the grapes of wrath; pipers pipe in the Tartan highlands, absurdist politicians walk the catwalk with Pablo Picasso painted policies..”<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

It quite often seems that, the image of a poet in modern day Britain, is seen as being<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

condemned to the sidelines and the outer reaches of expression.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fact is though that Trev Teasdel has
\nbeen writing poetry for years and has long been engaged in a war of his own,
\nagainst the rich and powerful elements in our society, and against all that
\nthreaten our freedoms and expressions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trev’s poetic style is very much abstract
\nand oblique. He doesn’t seem to favour neatly structured four liners and rhyme.
\nHis writing is more complicated that that. His work is challenging, cryptic and
\nwitty. Trev’s poems tend to carry the insistence that life is to be lived and
\nthat two fingers can<\/span>  <\/span>be given to the
\nestablishment as and when you feel.<\/span><\/p>\n

This album appears to cover a wide range of
\ntopics from the fears and pleasures of complete freedom to the intellectual
\nmorose of the masses. And, yes, a lot of words are of a more idealistic nature.
\nBut it has been released at a time when, at more than any other time in our
\nlives, many of our ideals are becoming eroded or even derided.<\/span><\/p>\n

The music that accompanies the words is
\nminimal. There is a lot of bass guitar. But, at the same time the accompaniment
\nis intense and frenetic. Yet strangely, it seems to compliment the words
\nperfectly.<\/span><\/p>\n

I guess the words take you where you want
\nthem to. I personally found it all very much old wave. And that is meant in the
\nsense that you are thrown back a few decades to the bars that lingered with
\nsmoke and filled with the mellow sounds that keep you company in the ambience.
\nDifficult nowadays to imagine that that<\/span> 
\n<\/span>places like those once existed.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time however, there are also
\noccasional feelings of the current. Which, lets face it, is not the most
\ninspirational of places right now. I suppose though that the clue is in the
\nalbums title \u2013 ‘Jazz Town’.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/span>In a world where human beings have become so
\nextraordinarily aggressive and violent, not only in their own personal
\nrelationships but also in their relationships with both the world and with each
\nother then this album is the complete antitheses.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/span>Thoughts can create all kinds of situations.
\nComplete freedom to think gives you work like this. You could certainly do so
\nmuch worse than to lose yourself within this album for the time it lasts.<\/span><\/p>\n
