A jagged white sear ripped the sky<br \/>\napart, almost immediately followed by another clash of<br \/>\nthe aerial cannons. David glanced up and spoke quietly: \u201c<i>Dry lightning. Won&#8217;t last too long. This part of the world is noted for its freak storms<\/i>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Up above them the peals and explosions continued and<br \/>\nthe lightning illuminated the cabin cruiser. Presently<br \/>\nthe storm, with its echoes of violence and destruction<br \/>\nof ages past and to come, ceased. Peace returned to<br \/>\nthe backwater.<\/p>\n<p>Four swans glided downstream past the now empty cabin cruiser.<br \/>\n&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: large\">THE CORRIDOR by Al Yedd 1973<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<div>\n<b>Submitted to Hobo but not published at the time owing to space.<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\n<b><br \/><\/b><\/div>\n<p>The Corridor exists. It occupies a place in creation.<\/p>\n<div>\nThe Corridor is long. It has no end. No beginning.<br \/>\n* &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; * &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; *<br \/>\nThe Corridor was inhabited. Along the white part&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nwalked man 1. He had lived there all his life. Man 1&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nstopped. The Corridor had changed. It was no longer&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nwhite. It was grey.<\/p>\n<p>Man 1 did not think or speak about the change,&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\nrather he noticed it instinctively. Man 1 walked on. Why?<br \/>\nInstinct<\/p>\n<p>He stopped. Terror washed over him in waves which&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\nthreatened to drown him. A few yards in front of him&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nstood a figure.<\/p>\n<p>Gradually the terror subsided. Man 2 moved closer.<\/p>\n<p>Terrible images in man one\u2019s brain accompanied the<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n&nbsp;approach. He saw a figure stretched out on a floor,&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nwrithing in pain. Man 1 knew that Man 2 was offering&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nthis to him.<\/p>\n<p>He started to run and was followed by a terrible noise&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\ncalled laughter. (The Corridor walls had changed colour&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nagain).<\/p>\n<p>Man 1 ran down the now black walled Corridor, followed&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\nby Man 2\u2019s laughter and the chance to experience pain&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n(really pleasure), unaware that he was vainly trying to&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nflee from his other (evil?) self.<\/div>\n<div>\n&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: large\">THE SAVED     by Al Yedd<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<div>\n<b>Submitted to Hobo but not published at the time owing to space.<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\n<b><br \/><\/b><\/div>\n<p>In a place of perfection, in a time of morals, there<\/p>\n<div>\nexists a square, white room. In the centre of the room&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nthere is a small, white, square table supported by delicately&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\ncurving legs.<\/p>\n<p>On top of the table are two champagne glasses&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\nand a large bottle of champagne. Occasionally a man&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nand a women arrive. They are dressed in white suits,&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\ntheir pockets bulging with money. They drink some&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\nchampagne and then depart.<\/p>\n<p>They are citizens of Perfection, dwellers in&nbsp;<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\nMorals. They carry their god in their pockets.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;color: #333333;font-family: georgia, 'times new roman', times, hiraminpro-w3, 'ms mincho', serif;font-size: 13px;margin-bottom: 10px;margin-top: 10px\">\n<span style=\"color: black\">But is not their god called the Root of all Evil?<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;color: #333333;font-family: georgia, 'times new roman', times, hiraminpro-w3, 'ms mincho', serif;font-size: 13px;margin-bottom: 10px;margin-top: 10px\">\n<span style=\"color: black\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;color: #333333;font-family: georgia, 'times new roman', times, hiraminpro-w3, 'ms mincho', serif;font-size: 13px;margin-bottom: 10px;margin-top: 10px\">\n<span style=\"color: black\">The man and the women. Comment on the Scene! <b>Trev Teasdel<\/b> Aug 1973<\/p>\n<p>There was a community of <span style=\"color: #93c47d\"><b>Greenflies<\/b><\/span> and all the <b><span style=\"color: #93c47d\">Greenflies<\/span><\/b> were bored and each <span style=\"color: #93c47d\"><b>greenfly<\/b><\/span> told the other how culturally apathetic their community was. \u201c<i>Nobody ever does anything \u2018ere<\/i>\u2019\u201d they were heard to say. One or two <span style=\"color: #93c47d\"><b>greenflies <\/b><\/span>noticed that all the <span style=\"color: #93c47d\"><b>greenflies<\/b><\/span> were saying the same thing as if it was only the others that were at fault.
