A<br \/>\nsecond stanza can be found on p. 60]<\/p>\n<p>Addition to first stanza of \u2018John Critchley Prince\u2019<br \/>\nII<br \/>\nSo sang I years before we ever met;<br \/>\nAnd it delighted me when I did know<br \/>\nMy Sonnet smooth\u2019d one wrinkle on his brow,<br \/>\nWhere Poverty and Care too oft were set:<br \/>\nAnd though at times he prudence did forget, 5<br \/>\nAnd sought to drown his sorrows in the bowl,<br \/>\nWhich gives but for the moment to the soul<br \/>\nEase of its pains, yet he did never let<br \/>\nOne sordid or immoral line defile<br \/>\nThe purity of his sweet po\u00ebsy; 10<br \/>\nHis muse being one of perfect chastity.<br \/>\nHe loved the freedom of his native isle;<br \/>\nAnd in all things of nature he could see<br \/>\nBeauty and joy and heavenly purity.<\/p>\n<p><b>George Markham Tweddell<\/b><br \/>\nBorn Wigan, June 21st, 1808; resided for<br \/>\nmany years at Ashton-under-Lyne; and Died<br \/>\nat Hyde, May 5th, 1866. [1st stanza on p. 30]<\/p>\n<p><b>John Critchely Prince<\/b> was another friend and fellow poet who Tweddell published in his publications.
