Landing Strip

LANDING STRIP

You’re doing so well for yourself, my baby,
Said you prefer his company.
The one with the pound-note-eyes
The one with the car-key-smile.
You’re flying so high my baby,
I’ll be your landing strip when you fall
I’ll be your landing strip when you fall.

The plane trip you’re undertaken,
Is but a one way circle round the city.
You’ll see the sights froma height
You’ll be floating just like a kite.
But you’ll soon be back on the ground
Slowly at the speed of sound
I’ll be your landing strip when you fall
I’ll be your landing strip when you fall.

The path you tread seems paved with gold.
A thin vaneer round a heart that’s cold.
A skyway full of fun and glee.
But your wings’ll take you too high
You’ll be lost in the sky.
I’ll be your landing strip when you fall
I’ll be your landing strip when you fall.
