\nWouldn’t believe she’s 80 plus.<\/span>
\nA notice saying ‘ Don’t pick the flowers<\/i>‘<\/span>
\nbut she doesn’t care –<\/span>
\nbit of a lad my lady.<\/span>
\n

\nI see you, do you see me?<\/span><\/i>

<\/span>
\nLives in home for old people<\/span>
\nBeside the sea<\/span>
\nWatches the boats leave the harbour.<\/span>
\nWatching the ships on the horizon<\/span>
\nWalks past the fishbasket harbour,<\/span>
\nDown cobblestone, cafe lined, hotel kissed<\/span>
\npicture postcard street.<\/span>
\nBreathes in the salted, seasprayed, fish drenched air..<\/span>
\nKnows not what she’s doing doing or why that she’s doing it<\/span>
\nbut she does it cos she’s a Lowestoft lady<\/span>
\nLiving her old age like a delinquent teenager.<\/span>
\n

\nLowestoft lady speaks to the wind perched on her shoulders<\/span>
\nReminisces of tramcars, beadles and sweeps,<\/span>
\nand equestrian gentlemen who galloped the streets<\/span>
\nof top hats and tails and paupers and places<\/span>
\nthat no longer dance in the evolutionary whip.<\/span><\/p>\n
